About us |

Manchester Emergency Medicine was formed and is run by two practising emergency medicine consultants. Their experiences with trainees taking clinical OSCE style examinations led them to develop a formal course to help people who often struggle with this hurdle. In acquiring the knowledge required to pass the written aspects of the examination, candidates often fail to address key issues around the clinical aspects of examinations - arguably the most important. The primary purpose of our courses is to teach these clinical and examination skills to help candidates put themselves in the best possible postion to pass the OSCE. We have also developed a course to help senior trainees taking the management component of the FCEM examination. As the College develops the examinations we too will develop our courses to keep ahead of them. We have successfully delivered a series of academic and management study days with practice examinations. Future developments will include a part A and B course for the MCEM. The part B course may be extended to the FCEM too. These are work in progress so keep an eye on the site. Whilst our name would imply that we are Manchester centric, we do in fact use specialists from all around the North Western region. All of our tutors have a track record in successfully coaching candidates through the clinical aspects of professional examinations and are evaluated after each course. If you think you have the skills to teach on our days then please get in touch by email.
